There are two ex-votos/retablos available. Both are from Italy, hand-painted on heavy paper, and created in 1920. One represents someone surviving a carriage accident. Another represents an infant surviving illness. These represent milagros or miracles.
V.F.G.A. is the acronym for Votum Fecit, Gratiam Accepit (Latin). It means, "He/she made a vow" and "He/she received grace." Because of the VFGA inscribed on both paintings, these may be attributed to the site of Madonna dell'Arco in Sant’Anastasia near Naples. Please see: https://academic.oup.com/past/article/230/suppl_11/191/2884261
Ex-voto means "from a vow," and retablo means "behind the altar."
Dimensions of each painting are 6.25" x 4.75".
The price is for one painting.
