Embroidered Silk, Magic Wallet, from France

$55.00

The magic wallet was invented in circa 1920s France for waitstaff to keep their tips secure. This particular wallet is, in fact, from France, and is circa 1920s. It is embroidered silk (bird and floral motifs) with ribbons to hold the bills or whatever else flat item you wish to keep within. There is also silk braid trim.

To use, place a bill (A euro fits better than a dollar, the latter of which needs to be folded.) on one side, underneath the ribbon. Close the wallet and flip it. When you open the wallet again, the bill will be on the other side.

Dimensions are 14 cm x 9 cm, closed.

The wallet does have some wear owing to age and usage. Please examine the photos carefully and do let me know if you would like more as I'll be happy to oblige.

Thank you for looking.
