French Moon Fèves

*****The price is for an individual fève. Please use the drop down box when ordering to select the fève you wish to purchase. The photos show the front and back of each fève. In both photos, the first row contains fèves #1-4, and the second row contains fèves #5-8. Some of the fèves are bisque (not glazed). The shiny fèves are glazed.

These fèves measure approximately ¾" with the larger (#4) measuring approximately ⅞".

*****Condition: These are older fèves, possibly antique, but of indeterminate age. Please use the zoom function to get the closest look at each photo as there is wear and discoloration commensurate with age. The brown fèves have small areas where the glaze did not take, but this is not damage.

*****Condition: Also, fève #7 has a couple of dark specks, which is from the clay/firing process, as well as chipping to the left cheek as seen when looking at the first photo. Please let me know if you need more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.

Fèves are ceramics or beans placed in the traditional French cake of Epiphany, the Galette des Rois, or the King Cake here in the States for Mardi Gras. Whoever finds the fève is crowned king or queen and has to pay for next year's cake.
