This is a Filmoscope, a handheld slide viewer, from the USSR with a production year of 1965. I do not believe it is Bakelite as it does not have the characteristic smell when rubbed vigorously. It comes in its original box, which does have wear, especially on the lid. Directions, which are in Russian, are included. Please note there are no slides.
*****Condition: There is light scratching and some soiling to the plastic body of the viewer and light scratching to the back screen that allows in light. I do not believe this latter condition will hamper viewing of a slide. Again, as noted above, there are no slides and the box, especially the lid, has wear.
Dimensions of the viewer, not including the protruding lens, are 2.5" x 2.25".
