This hook with floral motif and scrollwork that almost looks like animal heads on either side of the cherubic visage is from France. It measures 4.25", not including the curvature of the hook, and has three areas for screw placement. What looks to be the number six is on the back of the hook near where the hook and design portion meet.
****Condition: There is considerable patina on this unknown metal. There is also damage to the metal in the form of what appears to be a crack as seen in the third, (front) fourth, and fifth (reverse) photos. I do not believe this fissure compromises the stability of the piece.
