Antique, Nouveauté! Livre de Metamorphoses, French, Harlequinade/Turn up/Slice Book

This very rare; French; antique; harlequinade, turn up, or slice book is circa early 1900s. It could be even earlier, late 1800s, perhaps, but I'm erring on the side of caution with respect to providing a definitive time period.

The book measures 5.5" x 4.25"

****Condition Please note that this book is extremely fragile, and it does have condition issues such as discoloration/soiling and rips and tears on the page edges and front and back covers. Also, there are two white folded strips placed along the front cover's binding and one white folded strip placed along the back cover's edge. I believe these may be reinforcements added at a later date, but I can't be certain. Please examine the photos carefully and let me know if you would like more as I will be happy to oblige.
