This 3 ½" x ½" papier mâché, shoe-shaped snuff box is circa 1800s and from France. Probably part of a larger collection, it may have been made elsewhere.
Please examine the photos closely and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige. There is considerable wear to the lacquer with chipping and loss of the lacquer. I believe the heel to be a striker for a match and the ornamentation on the shoe itself to be of metal.
