Silver Sugar Tongs by Victor Leneuf, (1885-1935) with Minerva Head Hallmark, French

Sorry, this item has sold.

These silver sugar tongs by the French silversmith Victor Leneuf (1885-1935) bear the head of Minerva hallmark, denoting silver purity of at least 800 and possibly as high as 1000, as well as the maker's mark of a "V" and "L" with sugar tongs between these initials.

To err on the side of caution, I am dating these to the 1930s since that is the last decade of production for Leneuf, but they could very well be older.

The Minerva mark was used from 1838 until 1973.

Dimensions are 4.5" in length.

I've not polished these tongs but will leave this up to the discretion of the new owner.

Thank you for looking.
