This French butter mold, featuring a rooster and from the Creuse region of France, is circa 1800s and hand carved entirely of wood with the original metal fasteners, hook, and hinge. Long dormant wormholes pepper the surface of the wood. Dimensions are 8" and 4 ⅛" straight through the center. Thickness is 1 ¾".
