Antique Figural Rattle of Metal Cat and Celluloid Ring for Display or for Doll or Bear

This antique baby rattle from France is circa 1920s. The metal is unmarked and is either silver plate or Alpaca silver, an alloy of zinc, nickel and copper. Alpaca silver contains no actual silver. The ring is celluloid. Dimensions are 2" from the end of the rattle to the cat's head and approximately 1" in width at the widest point of the cat's body. The ring is 1" across.

The bottom of the rattle has two holes through which a light tinkling of the rattle is heard. There is some surface wear to the cat. Please use the zoom function to examine the photos closely and do let me know if you would like more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.
