This French silver (boar's head mark denoting at least 800 silver purity) 1.5 cm x 1.1 cm pendant is from France and depicts Our Lady of Deliverance (Notre Dame de la Délivrande).
The medal refers to the Madonna of the Normandy basilica, which has been welcoming pilgrims since the seventh century. The basilica's statue of the Black Madonna dates from the 16th century.
The bale does not lay completely flat, but a jump ring is attached for easier wearing.
