This icon of Saint George slaying the dragon is from Belgium although it appears to be done in the Russian tradition. It measures 3 ¾" x 3".
I believe it is a transfer print on wood, embellished with what appears to be gold foil and then varnished.
The frame is weighty and comprised of metal, perhaps brass, with designs that look to be filled with colored glass insets. There is also a hanger on the back to display the piece.
****Condition- Please note that the back of the icon's protective paper is lifting to expose what I believe is composite wood. One can glue this piece back down, if one wishes to do so.
