Vintage, Halloween, Buckram Mask of Comical Man

Sorry, this item has sold.

This vintage Halloween mask is made of buckram. According to www.maskmuseum.org, buckram as a mask material was popular from the 1920s-1950s.

This mask measures 9" at its widest and 7 ¾" from the top of the head to the chin. There are holes, one on either side of the hair portion. One side has rubber band residue that I've not attempted to remove. The material has been hand painted, and there is also a mustache that has been fashioned out of stiffened hair and tacked with a metal piece.

Condition: The mask material at the chin has a significant fold in it that will need to be pressed out. Also, the nose is creased/misshapen and might benefit from being stuffed gently with paper on the reverse side. There is fraying around the edges of the material.

Thank you for looking.
