This rare, antique, wax offering depicting a silk and paper rendering of the Virgin Mary, angels, wax floral decorations (Her flower is the lily.) surrounding the Virgin dates, and decorative wax border is from the Napoleon III period to perhaps 1900. It is from Germany and has "Schutzmarke Registrirt" (Registered Trademark) surrounding an elaborate illustration on the paper adorning the lid of the box. The paper also has a decorative border.
Please examine the photos carefully and do let me know if you need more photos as I will be happy to oblige.
Please note the Virgin's halo is missing a piece, and while the decorations do have wear commensurate with age and storage, it is in very good condition.
The paper lace adorning the interior of the box, which measures 7.5 cm x 15.5 cm x 3.3 cm, is crumbling and in a poor state.
The box is in fair condition with some staining, discoloration and a tear above the weight designation (3/10 Pfund).
The wax is in good condition with little wear but does have bits of debris stuck to the back from the crumbling lace and being encased in the box.
