This brooch, which has no maker's mark, may be attributed to Arthus-Bertrand, a French medalist whose company has been in business for over 200 years.
The brooch has blue enamel surrounding a medal of Our Lady of l'Épine, Châlons with spokes ending in fleur-de-lys. The metal is of unknown composition.
The basilica is near Châlons-en-Champagne and Verdun.
Dimensions are 1" ¾" across. There are scratched initials on the back of the brooch, and there is wear to the edges of the brooch as seen in the last five photos.
