Antique, French, Name Brooch- "Pierre" by FIX

$49.50

Sorry, this item has sold.

This French brooch is circa early 1900s and has the name "Pierre" with a floral design. The back of the brooch has the maker's mark FIX. Fix was the company started by François Savard in 1823. The company name came from the process of fixe, laminating brass with 14 carat and 18 carat hot gold foil-- a type of gold-plating. François's son Auguste took over the company in 1893.

Dimensions are 1.25" in length.

Pin snaps securely into and out of clasp.

****Condition Issues: Please examine the front of the brooch carefully using the zoom function. There is scratching to the face of the brooch as well as a small indentation between the first and second "r's." The scratches are not noticeable to the unaided eye. (The camera lens has magnified the scratches as well.) The indentation is noticeable depending upon the way the light hits the brooch, but I firmly believe it is not so glaring as to detract attention from the beauty of the brooch.

Thank you for looking.
