This antique, French cross is circa WWI and known as the Cross of Lorraine or Cross of Anjou. Both during WWI and WWII, this 16th century symbol represented a free France, a France that was able to regain its lost provinces that fell to Germany.
The cross is of a lightweight unknown metal and does have some discoloration as seen in the second photo of the reverse side. Dimensions are ⅞" x ⅞" (at its widest), not including the bale.
